Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), Janakpuri, New Delhi in partnership with National Human Resource Development Network conducted HR Conclave on “Talent Management in the Era of Industry 4.0” on February 15, 2020. The event, organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college emphasised on the inexorable shift from digitization (Third Industrial Revolution) to innovation (Fourth Industrial Revolution) and the challenges posed to rediscover business strategies.
The programme commenced with its inaugural session graced by the Chief Guest, Deepak Pahwa, Chairman, Pahwa Group, Managing Director, Bry-Air (Asia); Shri I.P. Aggarwal, President, MERI Group of Institutions; Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President, MERI Group of Institutions; S.K. Aggarwal, Chief Finance Officer; Prof. A.K. Aggarwal, Dean; Dr. S.K. Goel, Director- Coordination and other dignitaries. The session consisted of the traditional lamp lighting session by dignitaries, National Anthem, NHRDN- Code of Conduct, followed by MERI- Code of Conduct. The welcome address was presented by Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, wherein he spoke about the emerging breakthrough technology like robotics, artificial intelligence and communication system. Furthermore, the inaugural address was presented by Shri I.P. Aggarwal, emphasising on the transformation of organisational setup and business environment. This was followed by the key note address by Deepak Pahwa, highlighting the dynamics of talent and technology and role of artificial intelligence. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. A.K. Aggarwal deliberating on the need of microscopic view to sense changes posed by social, mobile, analytics, cloud and securities.
The programme progressed with the first panel discussion on “Transformational Leadership in HR 4.0: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities. The session was moderated by Dr. Jatinder Singh, Director, PHDCCI and the panellists included Ramesh K. Verma, President- Delhi, VR/AR Association; Veer Sagar, Chairman, Selectronic; and Mamta Wasan, Sr. VP-HR, FIS.
The second panel discussion on “Skills Requirement to Embrace Data Driven Talent Economy” was moderated by Dr. Sushil Chandra, scientist ‘G’, INMAS, DRDO and the panellists included Col Rohit Agarwal, Strategy & Plans, The Bird Group; Sumit Duggal, Co-founder, Sign Catch Inc; and Anuj Khanuja, Program Manager, Right Management. The session commenced with a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepshikha Kalra, Professor, MERI.
The programme commenced with students’ activity including a skit on “Human Intelligence is Indispensable, Artificial Intelligence, a Facilitator”, followed by research and case study presentations. The programme, organised by Prof. A.K. Aggarwal, Dean and Dr. Maitri Bhushan, Associate Professor, MERI College was highly appreciated by all attendees, guests and dignitaries.
